An attorney since 2001, Seth Gladstein is a passionate advocate who is trusted by his clients and respected by his peers in the legal community. As a former defense lawyer for hospitals, nursing homes, and insurance companies, he established Gladstein Law Firm, PLLC in order to help medical malpractice and nursing home abuse victims who he saw were in need of insightful and experienced legal representation. He fights vigorously for favorable settlements but is fully prepared to takes his clients’ cases to trial.
A Plaintiff’s Lawyer with a Background in Big-Time Defense
Upon graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001, Seth moved to New York City to start his career at one of the most distinguished and well-respected medical malpractice defense law firms in the city. For four years, Seth defended doctors and hospitals against patients’ claims for birth injuries, surgical errors, misdiagnosis, and other forms of negligence and malpractice. He gained experience in a wide variety of medical disciplines, including:
- Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Errors
- Anesthesia Errors
- Birth Injuries
- Failure to Diagnose
- Hospital and ER Errors
- Pediatric Malpractice
- Prescription Errors
- Surgical Malpractice
During his time in New York, Seth represented some of the country’s leading medical facilities, including New York-Presbyterian Medical Center, Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases, and North Shore University Hospital.
After making the most of his time in New York, Seth moved home to Louisville in order to take a position with one of Kentucky’s oldest and largest defense firms. From 2005 to 2011, Seth continued to defend clients against accusations of medical malpractice, and also began representing nursing homes in cases involving allegations of abuse and neglect. In his new role, Seth defended clients in both state and federal court, serving as counsel in two reported cases: Allen v. Siddiqui, 2010 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 46473 (W.D. Ky., May 10, 2010) and Hamblen v. Ky. Cab. for Health and Family Srvcs., 322 S.W.3d 511 (Ky. Ct. App. 2010).
Gladstein Law Firm, PLLC Opens its Doors with a Decade of Legal Experience
After almost 10 years of defending clients against medical malpractice and nursing home abuse claims while rising through the ranks of the legal profession, Seth made the decision to switch sides. For a decade, he had watched individuals try – and fail – to secure the settlements and court verdicts they needed in order to cover their medical expenses and other losses. In 2011, he opened Gladstein Law Firm, PLLC with two distinct goals:
- To hold negligent doctors, hospitals, and nursing homes accountable
- To make sure victims recovered the compensation they deserved
Since establishing the firm, Seth has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for his clients. This includes medical malpractice settlements of *$1.8 million and $1.75 million, and well as several *six-figure and confidential settlements for victims of medical errors and nursing home abuse.
Seth attributes much of his success to his background as a defense lawyer. Without his first-hand knowledge of how defendants and their lawyers think, strategize, and prepare their cases for trial, he would not be able to provide his clients with the advantages they receive today. This is a major part of what sets Gladstein Law Firm, PLLC apart from other law firms, and it has been a significant factor in the firm’s early success.
